Artist’s notes:

The exhibition brief was to create an artwork that either occupied the volume of one cubic foot or was derived from it. I aimed to make the most extensive structure, the material for which could be confined within that volume. Annulus ('ring' in Latin) comprised 18 three part segments, one bolted to the next. Each of the segments could be folded flat and all contained in a box of one cubic foot, four sides of which gave assembly instructions.
